Centennial Central

2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Planlearning triangle

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals
This year, we will continue to focus on building empathy and celebrating diversity.  We are doing this because we are concerned about the amount of racist and dehumanizing language that is being used on the school yard and buses.

Key Actions or Strategies

1.  Fostering a sense of community that celebrates diversity.

2.  Providing learning opportunities for students, families and staff to grow in the areas of empathy, tolerance and understanding.

3.  Planning opportunities for families to come together with staff to discuss the issues facing our students in a safe and accepting environment.

Community and Home Connections

Ask your child about the discussions they’ve been having in class about diversity.  Ask your child about our Celebrating Diversity day where students were encouraged to bring in artifacts, clothing etc. to share their heritage with their classmates.  Encourage your child to speak up or seek the help of a trusted adult should they witness or be a victim of racist or dehumanising language.
